A young Ivorian man travels to Paris in search of his white wife and their daughter, after she has returned to France. His journey through the city becomes an account of a mixed marriage and the social tensions surrounding it. The film, Désiré Ecaré's feature debut, unfolds as a satirical comedy set to a score by Memphis Slim.

When his father dies, young lad travels to Milan to attend the funeral and decides to follow in his father's footsteps as a gigolo. He is successful at finding rich women to prey on, but finds himself caught up in a bidding war.

The film combines actual footage of Communist leader Palmiero Togliatti's funeral with the intermingled stories of four people affected by his death: Ettore, a Venezuelan radical who abandons the wealthy Italian woman he loves to go back to his country and help his cause; Ludovico, an ailing filmmaker who finds out that art alone is not enough; Giulia, a woman who embarks upon a lesbian affair with a former mistress of her husband; and Ermanno, a philosophy graduate who breaks up with his past.

An ordinary man is snatched off the streets and turned into a man with incredible powers by an insidious company hell bent on world domination.
