The movie takes place during World War II and depicts the true story of Jan Baalsruds amazing escape from the German army from the coast of Northern Norway and across the border to the neutral country Sweden.

Werner is a private investigator. One day, the rich and attractive Stella Hvidsteen visits him in his weary office. She says that her sister Evy has disappeared, asks him to find her, and adds that her sister has red hair.

The parents brought the boy to the sanatorium. He does not like to be among patients, because he just got sick neck, what brought him here? He decides to build a raft and escape, because he is not among these patients. What came out of this idea? What if suddenly comes the understanding that you're one of them?
