Clara lives in a city too big for her taste. The days go monotonous and lifeless. When she begins to receive intriguing anonymous messages, the feeling that a change will soon happen becomes to rise. This plot is developed across the film only by the sensory experience of the character.

Raised as Catholics by the Queen of Portugal, the orphans Leonor, Brites, and Mécia are sent to the Brazilian colony with the order to get married. The harsh adaptation to the precariousness of the New World is felt differently by each of them.

Alex is a resourceful motoboy who cheats death daily on the most dangerous streets in the world. One day his close friend is killed by a reckless motorist. Alex seeks justice, but a corrupt cop stands in his way. The cop has orders to destroy all evidence of the motorist’s complicity in the accident, because of the driver’s wealth and status.
