Agata is a self-fulfilled woman who loves life. She is visually impaired. Robert is an acclaimed photographer. He has everything, yet feels as though he has nothing. 1945, Zofia Szablewska, a repatriate from the East, arrives in the former Breslau, now Wroclaw. He lives in a former German villa - the House under the Two Eagles. Zofia's roommate is Jan Liski, an officer of the Security Office who raises his stepson, Kazio, alone. Zofia uses the Red Cross to search for her husband Antoni and son Zbyszek, with whom she lost contact during the war. The commemorative clock left by the Germans brings back memories of her native Kresy, the Nowosiolo estate and the beginning of her love with the Polish settler - Antoni.

Zoska, is an attractive, well-educated and hard working woman who doesn't want to be stereotypically labeled by modern world. When she gets fired her world collapses, now she must realize what she really wants from life.

The film is set in the Tricity in 2003, ten years after the end of communism in Poland. The plot, apparently based on the real-life experiences of Kraków businessmen Lech Jerzorny and Paweł Rey, is about three young, talented businessmen who open a high-tech factory. This comes to the attention of the local state ‘mafia’, the local Prosecutor, played by Janusz Gajos, and tax office boss, played by Kasimierz Kaczor, who are both jealous and would like to make money for themselves. We are in Poland, so success must be punished.

Boys father was killed in a mine accident so Kid lives alone with his mother. There are rumors that a hyena settled in the bushes close to boys house. The beast is carnivorous and attacks people. Each time Kid goes to school he must overcome terrible fear. Whats more people started to disappear in the neighborhood. Kid suspects that mysterious, hiding man has something to do with it.
