Malhação is a Brazilian television series for the teenage audience. The soap started in 1995, and was set in a fictional Gym Club called Malhação on Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Through the years the location varied slightly. Although the name of the soap remains the same, it is now set in the Múltipla Escolha High School.

The encounter between a young nanny and a lonely child serves as the starting point for a show about affection, companionship, human relationships, and the diverse forms of motherhood.

This is the story of a young couple, Dafne and Gabriel, who are separated by her grandfather Jaques, a millionaire who couldn’t handle that his granddaughter was in love with a poor guy. After an accident, Jacques is presumed dead and leaves his business to Dafne, but on the sole condition that she marries. Judith, her grandfather‘s stepdaughter, takes over the business temporarily and schemes to pair Dafne with her brother Nicholas in order to consolidate her claim. Chiquititas is a Brazilian children's musical telenovela co-produced by SBT and Telefe and originally broadcast on SBT from July 28, 1997, to January 19, 2001. Based on the original Argentine telenovela created by Cris Morena, it was adapted for Brazilian television by Ecila Pedroso for the first season and Caio de Andrade for the subsequent seasons. Starring Flávia Monteiro, Fernanda Souza, and a large ensemble cast, the series ran for five seasons and became one of the most successful children's productions in Brazilian television history.
