Teacher Majer is lured by his friend to an old farmhouse, where a hitman hired by the last surviving member of the Dostál family is waiting for him. No one understands what has happened, and above all, where the man is on whom they are now completely dependent, each for a different reason. They begin to fear that something has happened to Majer, and so the four “bravest” among them decide to find him.

The second part begins shortly after the death of Michal Dostál, the biggest bastard of them all. Michal's father and grandfather are convinced that teacher Majer was behind the murders of all three students and was avenging his sister's death. They begin to psychologically torment Majer and search for evidence. The new police investigator Karas, who takes over the case from the deceased police investigator Paleček, is also looking for evidence. Karas immediately suspects something is amiss in the deaths of the "bastards" and also begins to focus on Majer, who is now the school principal.

The apparent ghost and custodian of this treasure chases away the young man, who still manages to secretly pocket a small, fateful lighter...

The film tells the story of the relationship between a mentally disabled uncle and his nephew, whom fate brings together at a certain moment, gradually forming a bond between them that is a demonstration of the strength and "power" of friendship. This is then put to the test by those who, for various reasons, try to separate them. Among other things, the film is a confrontation between the two main, innocent protagonists and those who lost their innocence long ago and are guided primarily by what can benefit them, often at any cost.

Arthur Watkins' English conversational comedy has been successfully adapted to the Czech environment and the present day by screenwriter and director Jaroslav Brabec. Ondřej Bednář is a man whose life follows a strict routine. Convention and rationality are the corridors in which Ondřej, an exemplary father and meticulous golf course groundskeeper at the local club, feels safe. His wife Sylvie, on the other hand, is impulsive and chaotic, so they complement each other well. Ondřej would certainly not want to know that Sylvie was such a terrible driver that she ran into a baby carriage at an intersection. But what he suddenly has to keep secret...

The family of a film screenwriter, who needs fresh air and, above all, peace and quiet for his creative work, moves to a small country farm for a while. However, his wife, a former, somewhat hysterical actress, still does not give him any peace, and so his small family, which also includes a six-year-old son, is in danger of falling apart. Unexpected, mysterious events, however, show them the way back. This is because there is a former coffee roastery on the farm, and the wife, together with her neighbor Dědek, starts a business against her husband's will.

Honza doesn't have it easy. Being a servant to the stingy Mr. Bařtipán is almost unbearable. Honza figured that out too, even though it took him a while. But then he confirmed that fairy-tale Honzas are funny young men and dealt with Mr. Bařtipán brilliantly.

Antonín Maděra receives an offer to leave prison because a review of sentences from the 1950s has found that he was unjustly convicted. However, there is a catch to this release. The official proceedings could be protracted, so his former judge suggests that he sign a petition for clemency. Maděra naturally refuses.

Based on a play by French playwright Georges Feydeau. This comedy, often defined as a farce, has an incredible pace, with its transformations arranged with machine-like precision and enviable rhythm.

A young priest named Herbert arrives at a juvenile detention center to perform pastoral duties. From the very beginning, Herbert encounters an impenetrable communication barrier. He finds no support even among the teaching staff, whose gray eminence is the deputy director nicknamed Šéfík. This man is a former boxer and also practices this sport at the institution. If the inmates want to gain any advantages with Šéfík, they have to box. The training also includes fights, where the aggression of the young delinquents is often allowed to run free. Herbert realizes that if he wants to gain a deeper insight into life at the institution, he must accept the rules there. He convinces Šéfík to put him in a fight, and Šéfík deliberately chooses a dangerous opponent for him.

Eva Holubová, Tomáš Hanák, David Vávra, Milan Šteindler, Martin Dejdar, Jitka Asterová have all starred in early short films by Tomáš Vorl. Nobody knew them at the time. And they themselves had no idea that they would one day shine in the Czech film sky.

Reluctant at first, Moreau slowly learns the true nature of the camp, including the meaning of the "transports" on which people leave. With a world-class orchestra (made up of people interned in the camp) and a cast of children, Moreau stages a show to end all shows.

A dramatic action film about stuntmen who perform the most dangerous stunts in the film world. One day, however, one of them is struck by a family tragedy in which his son dies. The local farmers' cooperative organized a trip to Italy, in which the Škopkovci took part. They went there at the invitation of the Italian agricultural cooperative, whose employees are going to visit Hoštice in return. In addition to the sights, the goal of the tour was also an excursion to a modern Italian cowshed. After returning home, Hoštice and its inhabitants are waiting for a "great approach to Europe" - they plan to improve the neglected village by building a nudist beach. However, as it usually happens, the Italian delegation appears at the least convenient moment. Strangely enough, they like the cooperative's neglected economy so much that they propose to preserve it as an open-air museum...

The Manor, a dark funny version of Akira Kurosawa's " Rashomon". During a snowstorm, Patrick Roarke, a manservant, is found dead at the bottom of the main staircase in a gothic English mansion. Inspector Hatcher is sent to investigate the death. When he arrives, he finds a household consisting of five women. When questioned by the inspector, each of the women tells a different story, all of which are illustrated by flashback scenes showing the events as related by that particular person. Everybody seems to protect somebody and the inspector becomes increasingly intoxicated as he tries to untangle the web of lies in his endeavour to find out the truth.

After World War II, fighter pilot Antonín Maděra returns from England to his native village in the Ore Mountains to forget the hardships and horrors of war and to "live, work, and love his neighbors," as he himself says. But Svatý Štěpán, which his family had to leave in 1939, is no longer the same place it used to be. However, even in his wildest dreams, he could not have imagined what really awaited him there.

The distinctive artist, typographer, and writer Josef Váchal is known to the public primarily for his Blood Novel. The surrealistic exuberance of this defense of 19th-century pulp fiction caught the attention of Jaroslav Brabec and his colleagues, who found a corresponding image of 20th-century "trash." The authors' interest focuses primarily on the silent film era, with a journey through the history of cinema continuing through the advent of sound film to the present day (auteur cinema of the 1960s, modern horror), formally employing techniques such as tinted film. The versatile parody intertwines a colorful plot with the story of the author (Váchal/Paseky), who comments on and creates his book, and is further split in the plot into the characters of Fragonard and the Master. As with Váchal, reality increasingly enters the fiction, so that the only "happy ending" turns out to be the artist's finished work.

A period musical comedy set in a quiet Prague quarter at the end of the fifties. Using the western plot device of the "man from nowhere" a generation gap story unfolds of changing social climate. The action is driven by the character of a young man named Baby who causes a local rebellion by bringing rock'n'roll to a Communist neighborhood raised on swing.

A fairy-tale comedy about how a king decided to marry off both of his daughters on the same day. Princess Zlata is a true beauty who has no shortage of suitors. Princess Pepička is less fortunate, as fate has blessed her with a good heart and a sharp mind, but has been stingy with beauty. And so the king decided to marry off his adult daughters at the same time and hold both weddings together.

Vladimír Michálek chose an unconventional adaptation of Franz Kafka's novel for his feature debut. Artistically reminiscent of the classic films of Karel Zeman, the director reinterpreted this dark story of a man vainly seeking a place in a rigidly ordered society by changing the desperate conclusion into a happy end. The film provided Czech comedian Jirí Lábus with a new kind of role: that of the despotic uncle of a main hero Karel Rossman (Martin Dejdar).

Why? (Czech: Proč?) is a 1987 Czechoslovak drama film directed by Karel Smyczek. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. The film deals with the hooliganism in Czechoslovakia, particularly with the fans of football club Sparta from Prague, whose supporters were the pioneers of the football fan riots in Czechoslovakia, starting with hooligan actions already in the 1960s, like breaking the trains in which they travelled when they went on Sparta's away games. A narration of episodes from the life of the famous Czech poet, Karel Hynek Mácha. Throughout the film, we witness a deep analysis of Mácha's complex character (his relation to another Czech writer of the time Josef Kajetán Tyl, his unbearable jealousy, his solitude, his attitude to nature,etc.) on the well-depicted historical background with all its particularities.

A coming of age drama about a young boy Jirka who lives in Prague.

Four short stories depicting the private life of Czechoslovak soldiers. In the short story "The Pheasant", the hardened corporal Kony takes revenge on the bullying of the new recruit Lubos. On the way to get a tank repaired, however, a manly friendship is born between the two men. The story Potato depicts a brigade during which, despite the prohibitions of a strict professor, soldiers and students become close at an evening disco. The buns bring to life the problems of military love: Štěpánka prefers Peter to Honza, but pays heavily for her mistake. The film closes with the short story "The Solution", in which a lieutenant from Slovakia has problems with the arrangement of his family life.

The idea of mystery unites the three debut stories - the original Bermuda Triangle with its mysterious phenomena has begun to shift and can be traced anywhere in the world, including Czech and Slovak territory. Here, too, unexplained shifts in space and time occur. This idea is supported by the aforementioned short stories, but the inventiveness of the subject matter and staging is very heavy-handed, and the film passed through the cinemas without much interest.
