Every year the Swedish entertainment industry is taken over for weeks by a single television show trying to find Sweden's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. Melodifestivalen has grown into a center around which a large portion of the Swedish music industry revolves and is financed by. Is it really reasonable that so much power is wielded by a single production?

Karin, a Swedish music student in Rome, falls in love with Bruno, a medical student. After learning he is married, she returns to Sweden, where she meets and marries David, an American diplomat. When he is assigned to Rome, Karin’s past unexpectedly comes back into her life.

Between theater and something else, this story seems to be about both a birthday and Christmas Eve at the same time, although it is more abstract. There are also absurd actions and surrealistic hints. A dream-like show.

After losing his son in a traffic accident and his wife to mental illness, Harry moves to a gloomy Stockholm suburb. A local youth gang is harassing the neighborhood and Harry comes up with the idea of hiring the gang to kill the bureaucrats who are responsible for the construction of the suburb. The film is a fierce critique of the political project of building suburbs designed only for workers to sleep in and also wants to have a say in the debate over nature vs nurture.
