The subject of this film is Dr. Ivan Egry, a young man, who becomes infatuated with Edit Ralben, the beautiful, but flirtatious, daughter of a prominent man. As the two get involved romantically, problems start to plague their relationship. When they end up separating, Ivan finds comfort with Josza, a pretty girl, much more stable than Edit, but far less glamorous. When Edit eventually re-enters Ivan’s life, he can’t resist her. Unable to resolve his conflicting emotions results in an abruptly tragic finale.

László Bagyoni is forced to flee because he published a newspaper in the small Szekler village without permission. His friend Bence Uz, who lives in the mountains, takes him in. The notary's daughter Leticia arrives in the mountains with a hunting party. Her fiancé, Jonescu, becomes jealous of Bagyoni and the trip ends in anger. Uz Bence, who has made money from the hunt, wants to marry his old lover, Julie, but she has already married someone else. At Bence's intervention, the notary cancels Bagyoni's sentence. Meanwhile, Julis' husband dies and she is left alone with the baby. Julis leaves the child in the care of Bence while she goes to the city to serve.

Almost all the students of the secondary school at Igló are in love with Évike, daughter of professor Tirtsák. Petky Pali, the wild, rollicking son to the mayor is dreaming about her, too. One of his competitors, Szidor Ákos, denounces him to their teachers. The mayor is also informed about his son's doings, and his personal experiences substantiate the rumours. Yet he was not the better of it in his learning years at Igló! Pali is sacked, and Szidor is reprimanded for his intriguing. The world war breaks out. Pali, as well as his fellow students, goes to the front. Évi continues to wait for him faithfully, and the returning Pali, now an officer, asks her to marry him at the party for the one-time students of Igló.

György Bánáth landowner and Miklós Vass the teacher, on the verge of collapse, trudging all the way from Siberia where they have spent more than ten years as POWs, trying to prevent each other from falling from fatigue on the way home. Both become regular visitors to the Pálffy family and they both make amorous advances to Katinka, the beautiful daughter of the local vicar.

Theatre Colosseum prepares for the closing performance of the month. The magician Keats wants to avoid having to perform with Jack Carey, the well-known marksman, as the latter has seduced his wife, the beautiful dancer, Silvia Castellani. It is only thanks to the persuasions of Alice McLean, the manager of the acrobat sisters, that he finally decides to do his show. Carey starts wooing the second of the McLean-sisters, Gloria.

A Hungarian soldier is taken prisoner by the Russians and sent to a Siberian prison camp. Meanwhile the years of loneliness are too much for his wife to bear.

Baron Lóránt, now bankrupt for reasons for which he cannot be blamed, starts a new life in America, accompanied by Péter, his faithful valet. They both work as waiters in a bar. Things turn nasty when Lóránt recognises his uncle in one of the bar's customers. Embarrassed by his present job, he refuses to serve his uncle and is, therefore, promptly given the sack.

Kato and Paul pose as newly-weds to take advantage of a travel agency's offer of a discounted trip to Italy for the honeymooners. However, Kato hadn't bargained for sharing a bed and room with Paul.

They live in difficult circumstances, but Lajos Pósa takes up the talented young man. Pista wants to recover his legendary violin, which has fallen into the possession of a Russian prince, so he goes on a tour of Russia. Here he meets Rózsi, who has become a famous dancer and now has a hold on him too. Meanwhile, Pista falls ill and returns home to die. In his last hours, a package arrives from Rosie. He plays his last song with the returned violin.

In a cosmopolitan city vaudeville theatre, meeting place of the most successful artistes, the art shooter gets in suspicion to have committed a murderous poster on his jealous partner. - Not particularly successful mixture of vaudeville theatre numbers, artiste's destiny and crime film tension, on an average produced and played. Vicky, dressed in a man's costume, goes to defend her father and with the honor of a nobleman fights the young scion of a family hostile to her. The young man's name is Feri Kont, and he mistakes the young man's introduction to Vicky for her brother Kalman Hadhazy. The political conflicts between the two families are mitigated by love complications. A misunderstanding at a county ball is brought to light, and the two warring camps are reconciled through the love of Vicky and Feri.
