Shot mainly in South East London, it’s about Micky Mason, a skilled manual worker who, since the Crash, can find nothing but menial zero hours jobs. He takes a course of action that is completely out of character, but it’s the only way he can see of keeping his family together. It is about surviving, but it’s not all anguish and despair - it’s also warm and tender, and funny. It's about people finding their way through. It’s about Micky Mason; a man out there, right now, doing his best.

When Kate, an isolated and vulnerable young mother struggling to make ends meet, is offered help by her neighbour Marie, she finds herself pulled into a community that may not be as virtuous as it seems.

DI Walter Gambon is a self-styled “Yoda of the force”, whose workload suddenly increases when he’s handed the cases of an officer who committed suicide by throwing himself under a Tube train. Or was he pushed? Gambon must work out whether his former colleague was murdered, while tracking down another officer who has gone so far undercover that nobody knows where he (or she) is.
