The film is about the formation of a music channel that has shaped modern pop culture. On August 1, 1981, the life of a whole generation of Americans changed forever - on this day MTV began its broadcasting day, making VJ a new teen hero and creating a canon of music video as a vivid artistic statement.

"I, Candy" deconstructs a drawing Candy Kugel made when she was six years old. It explores her life, touching on family history, current events and societal norms of the time. In the process, she confronts anti-Semitism, channels political activism, and navigates life choices through luck and determination (and a bit of voodoo)!

This docuseries tells the story of female animation pioneers in both past and present days, looking into the challenges they have faced and the progress they have made while exploring the obstacles that still exist. Highlighting the determination and passion that moved women out of the ink & paint department and into the role of animator and beyond, the docuseries seeks to inspire the next generation of animation storytellers, while questioning the inequality between men and women within the creative workforce of animation.

The animated 30-minute piece is designed to act as an icebreaker for discussions between parents and their children.
