Keyes, a successful photographer who lives at the border of Skid Row, notices a homeless man with a strange old mirror. Immediately struck by it for reasons he cannot explain, he convinces the man to sell it to him, soon behaving in increasingly erratic and unhinged ways.

A nuclear warhead launched by Soviet insurgents protesting the waning Cold War destroys the Ukrainian city of Donetsk. The destruction sets off a race between American and Soviet politicians to prevent a nuclear holocaust. While the U.S. president feverishly works to keep the military and political machine from going into overdrive, various subordinates panic. When the president is believed to be killed in a helicopter crash, zealous advisers take over.

Light-hearted spoof about a dysfunctional upper-income family who have to come to terms with family and business problems around the titular holiday.

Based on Suzanne Somer's autobiography, the film tells of her troubled childhood, her affairs, her abortion and her arrest for writing bad cheques and posing nude.
