The film is primarily narrated by Alan and includes interviews with family members, musical colleagues and country stars, including Carrie Underwood. Written, produced and directed by John Albarian, the film showcases the inspirations that led Alan to write hits such as “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” “Chattahoochee,” “Here in the Real World,” “Livin’ on Love,” and “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).”

Hosted by Olivia Newton-John and playing John Denver's hits include performances by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lee Ann Womack, John Oates, Olivia Newton-John and Richie Furay, and featuring members of John Denver's Band and the Boulder Philharmonic conducted by Lee Holdridge.

Taped at the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the event will boast performances from the likes of Steve Azar, Lee Ann Womack, Rebecca Lynn Howard and Mandrell herself.
