David goes to find his fiancée, Willa. She has left him at a train station with a group of stranded passengers. He finds her at a local honky-tonk club and in his attempt to bring her back he learns the horrifying truth about why they cannot stay at the station.

With news of their grandmother's passing, a group of sisters come together to pick a song to honor their grandmother's legacy at her memorial service. While cleaning out her attic, they find old memories celebrating her life and contributions to their family and the community.

Follows the relationship of 27-year-old journalist Mitchell Crawford and 21-year-old bicycle messenger Raheim Rivers, who meet at a gay bar in Greenwich Village during the summer of 1993.
