Paolo Dy

Historical biographical religious drama film based on the memoirs of Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order who was also canonized as a saint in Roman Catholicism.

In 1887, an Igorot veteran is forced to parade his own people as "savages" at a Madrid exposition. Caught between his loyalty to Spain and the survival of his people, he must use his knowledge of the empire to lead them on a daring escape home.

A mentally-afflicted young man is accused of murdering his longtime benefactor. The real truth of what happened lies in his mad obsession with his supposed victim's old typewriter, on which he types relentlessly, day and night.

Written, shot and edited all within 24 hours, 'Creative License' is a humorous yet poignant reflection on the experience of living in a foreign land, and how it affects your relationship with the people you left back home. Winner of the 2010 US National 24Hr Filmracing Competition and the Philippines' NCCA Ani Ng Dangal Award.
