Saijo has an ability to see special glow around women who are in love. Biographical story, based on life of Ino Tadataka, a Japanese measurer and cartographer. Ino Tadataka travelled the length and breadth of Japan on foot for 17 years from the age of 55 to perform his surveys. The accuracy of his maps also owed much to the fact that he was the first surveyor in Japan to combine measurements on the ground with observations of the heavens. Ino started the work as a private individual but earned the confidence of the Shogunate and it eventually turned into a national project. His maps were later used for many years as the foundation for maps made by modern survey techniques.

Kyoko is a university librarian and she also helps her parents with their drycleaning company. She is involved with a childhood friend from the neighborhood, Kota. He is the son of the local tofu maker and has begun a moderately successful career as a stand-up comedian. A visiting lecturer from Tokyo falls head-over-heels in love with Kyoko and asks her to go abroad with him to Beijing, where he has to spend the next few years for his research. One day, Yoko is introduced to a service called 'Rental Family' by her business partner. Yoko is puzzled by the unfamiliar service, but calls a rental husband to come to her home to do housework. Yoko finds a kindred spirit in Go Matsushita, the rental husband, and a child actor he knows, Shuri Yasuda, as the daughter... Chieko's dementia progresses day by day, Tadakatsu clumsily struggles to support Chieko, and Matsushita and Shuri take on the role of the rental family despite their complicated circumstances. Yoko spends time with the "family" around her and comes into contact with a new form of happiness.
