Léo finds an old photograph dated the same day he was born. Intrigued, he sets off in search of what he thinks is a fragment of his past.

To defend his principles and his love, a man faces the divine laws of the village where he lives, but also has to fight his inner demons. And what seems to be a new life of happiness, becomes a labyrinth of jealousy, bigotry, passion and death.

Cosmopolitan and provincial, Curitiba can be a good synthesis of conflicts. Through the stories of four characters who don't know each other but whose fates are intertwined—a car dealer, a motorcycle courier, a bus driver, and a paper collector—the film chronicles the daily struggle for survival.
