Film about a Russian Master of Martial Arts, Andrei Khromov (Rostotsky). Based on a true story. A young man travels all over the Eastern republics of the Soviet Union. He is studying various systems of self-defense in order to develop his own system that would make him unbeatable.

The plot is based on the story of a former teacher who became one of the leaders of the party leadership of Uzbekistan, involved in the "cotton business". He is accidentally killed by his own son in a shootout with assassins of party mafiosi.

Based on the novella Peka by S. Georgiyevskaya. For many years, civil engineer Pulat—who left to work on the construction of the city of Navoi—and his wife Lola—who at the time refused to go with him and later became a popular singer—had not seen each other.
