Mom and dad dump son Cody, daughter Abby, her best friend Marcella and a baby on the farm with Grandpa and Grandma. Purple dinosaur Barney soon appears to entertain the kids, and when a large colorful egg deposited on a farm by a shooting star is accidentally carted off, Barney and the kids start their chase for it.

Kids for Character was a program that was released on VHS in April 23, 1996. It was a charity special about moral character that featured many different children's characters. It was produced by The Character Counts! Coalition and was distributed by Lyrick Studios. The host of the show is Tom Selleck.

After beach plans for Michael and Amy's family are ruined, Barney takes the Backyard Gang to the beach. They play in the sand, explore a pirate ship, and meet a mermaid.

The Backyard gang puts on a birthday show for Michael and Amy's dad. Barney encourages the gang to use their imagination to make old props seem like new.

After listening to a story about camping read by her mom, Tina wishes that she could go camping someday. After Tina falls asleep, she dreams about a camping trip with Barney and the rest of the Backyard Gang. Barney takes the gang through different fun experiences from pitching tents to having a snack. In the mist of things, a storm comes around and Tina gets lost in the woods. Thanks to Barney's advice earlier of "Stay where you are, hug a tree and blow your whistle," everyone finds Tina and they continue onto more campfire fun. They even explore a cave where a bear lives. Back at the campfire, songs are sung around it and everyone learns how to make S'mores. After the trip is over, Tina wakes up and realizes it was all just a dream - and a magical one at that.

BJ and Baby Bop help Barney clean out his messy closet. While cleaning, they find lots of certain things that remind them of the fun times they shared with all their friends.

It's Christmas Eve and Santa's given Barney and his friends a special job to take Derek (the new kid in the neighborhood) to see if Santa knows his Address. After arriving in Barney's special sleigh, the kids frolic on the ice, pretend to be elves in Santa's workshop and learn from Mrs. Claus that "doing things for others is what Christmas is all about."

With a little help from Barney and a big imagination, the children enjoy a fun-filled day at "Baby Bop's School" where every lesson includes unexpected surprises. Join Ashley, Hannah, Robert and Jeff as they sing an alphabet song, read in Baby Bop's book center, eat macaroni and cheese, and bounce into gym class. When the day is just about done, settle in with Baby Bop and her "blankey" for an afternoon nap. It's an unforgettable day of learning and laughter!

The Backyard Gang are bored on a Saturday with nothing to do. That is, until they use their imaginations to bring Barney to life. When they tell Barney their problem, he acts like a genie and gives them three wishes to go anywhere they would want to go in their imagination. Using their imaginations, they go to places like a fun park, the Moon in outer space, and even a fun-filled animal farm. But when Barney leaves, the kids learn from Mom that "friends are forever, whenever they're make-believe".

When Emily complains that she's having trouble writing a poem for a school assignment, her dinosaur pal Barney recruits his good friend Mother Goose for a one-on-one tutorial about rhythm and rhyme. The fun-to-follow curriculum features a lineup of nursery rhyme standards and sing-along favorites, including "Baa Baa Black Sheep," "London Bridge," "Old King Cole," "Little Boy Blue" and "The Old Lady in the Shoe."

Come celebrate with Barney(tm) as he plans a very special sing-along party and invites many of his friends, old and new! The group enjoys singing their all-time favorites while being transported to Tee-riffic places such as a farm, a campsite in the woods and a storybook land. After a forest ranger visits the school, Stephen decides he wants to become one too, but there's one big problem: Stephen has never visited a forest before. With a little imagination, Barney whisks Stephen and his friends, Hannah, Kim, and Chip, to Camp WannaRunnaRound for a hiking, camping, Super-Dee-Duper adventure!

It's Halloween and Barney and his friends are decorating the gym for an exciting party at the school. From Indian corn to smiling jack-o-lanterns, the gym is aglow with the colors of fall. Meanwhile, BJ and Baby Bop are putting the final touches on their costumes as they get ready for a fun-filled night of trick-or-treating.

Adam's mother takes the Backyard Gang and Barney (still a stuffed toy doll) to the studio where she works. While there, Barney and the Backyard Gang tour the studio on their own, while producing their own show. From a cereal commercial set and a puppet show and the six little ducks and teddy bears and the US flag and an island paradise and a make up place to a jungle, the show is filmed along with many props in the studio. With the power of imagination and some movie magic, anything is possible when Barney's around.

Barney takes the kids on his imaginary adventure bus ride to go some places including the castle, the pizza place, the horse ranch, and even the circus. Before they leave, Baby Bop and BJ also join them.

It's a Super-Dee-Duper surprise when Barney and the children in the Astronomy Club look through their telescope and see someone staring right back at them! Using the power of imagination, Barney and the kids blast off into the cosmos to meet BJ and Baby Bob, and receive a visit from a real astronaut. Exploring the new world for their fun new friend, they realise what a wonderful world they live in and that friends don't stop being friends, even when they're far away.

Barney and his friends take the stage to delight and entertain everyone at Radio City Music Hall. They all work together to make a special surprise for the audience using items from "The Barney Bag". But before they are able to share it, a new visitor, The Winkster, sneaks away with the bag.

Barney and his friends travel through a magical forest to a castle. Along the way, they sing songs, play games, and meet new friends.

When a giant wave leaves the ship stranded atop a group of palm trees, Barney and his friends set out to explore the jungle island. There, they meet Professor Tinkerputt – a toy inventor who doesn’t want anyone to play with his toys. Join the adventure and see if Barney and his friends can show the professor that good things happen when you share.

Barney the Dinosaur joins his friends on an imaginative trip to school, where they explore classrooms, learn about safety, play games, and discover the fun of learning together. With songs, storytelling, and gentle lessons, Barney Goes to School encourages preschool-aged viewers to feel confident and excited about starting school.

After Stella the Storyteller leaves her suitcase in the treehouse, Barney and the children travel to France, Canada, and Mexico to find her. Meanwhile, Baby Bop and BJ fight over who gets to use the box, as Baby Bop wants to use it for a playhouse, and BJ wants to use it for a fort. When Barney and the children return, they find that BJ and Baby Bop are sharing the playhouse.

With some help from a tabletop video jukebox sent by Professor Tinkerputt, Barney, BJ, and Baby Bop relive memories as they watch special times they shared together.
