An ex-con trying to go straight must face a crazed criminal out for revenge.

Vaudeville comic Tom Howard meets a man about to shoot himself and takes him into his store to try and talk him out of it. But Tom may prove to be crazier than the guy he's trying to help.

Harry Gribbon is a down-and-outer on the road and stops at a farm for a hand-out. The a farmer's wife makes him chop wood to earn the food and he sees and falls in love with her daughter. The hired-hand is also in love with her so conflicts arise.

Two criminals hear about a woman who has won a prize in the lottery, and decide to kidnap her to force her to give them the money. Unfortunately, they don't know that the prize she won amounted to $50.

Tom Howard has married a widow. She keeps comparing him to her first husband, to Howard's cost. To make himself seem nobler, he has pal George Shelton burgle the place. However, another burglar is also trying to break in, to general confusion.

Professor Pierre Ginsbairge, an instructor at a success school, tells his class that nothing falls from the sky into their laps. On his way out, a safe falling from an upper-story window, nearly drives him into the sidewalk. Uninjured, but learning that the safe-owning company is insured, he claims to be injured and is sent to the hospital.There, he is mistaken for a look-alike famous surgeon and is in a jam when the surgeon arrives and finds Pierre making love to his wife, the nurse.

Sally Newton is in love with Lee Sullivan, a young tenor singer with Johnny Johnson's Orchestra, but her father prefers a stuffy young clerk as her suitor. She makes him taker her to the nightclub where Lee sings. Lee has arranged for Sally to elope with him, his song "Let's Take It on the Chin" being the signal for her. But the clerk has hired a tough gangster to keep Lee from singing.

When Pat gets married, he receives a raise from his boss. Herman, seeing how simple it is, tells his boss that he's recently married. All goes well until both bosses drop in on both young men to "meet the bride." Pat's bride finds herself playing both wives.

The first of a very short series, since it would become a TV series in 1949, based on the radio program that ran on CBS from 1944 through 1949. The premise of the program was intended as a satire and parody version of the "intellecutual" quiz shows on radio in the 40's, such as "Information Please" and "The Quiz Kids."

When Tim Ryan's leading lady walks out in a small hillbilly town, the leading lady he selects -- at gunpoint -- is dumb bell Irene Ryan.

A couple of hecklers ruin a magician's act when the magician asks for an audience volunteer.

When the story begins, Harry the Heaver calls a judge and threatens him. The police, however, have no idea where the crook is...so he hires two idiots to follow Harry's girlfriend so that they can lead them to his hideout. Unfortunately, since they are pretty dim, they end up following the judge's wife instead!

In a burlesque of the radio program "One Man's Family", Tim pays a visit to his fiancée, Irene Carr, to meet her family. He is ignored, insulted and relieved of his cash for a raffle in which he is not allowed to participate, and is finally deserted when Irene and all of her family walk out of the house and leave him all alone. This happens after two of her cousins stage a wrestling match, and a food-fight at the dinner table.

In "The Wrong Bottle", Tom is annoyed since his freeloading brother-in-law lives with them and he's quite thoughtless. After some arguing, the brother-in-law informs Tom that his insurance policy has lapsed....and soon after this Tom thinks he's accidentally drank poison. However, when he heads to the store to buy some antidote, he's frustrated by a dopey druggist and other store employees....and there's more craziness after this.

George Shelton asks Tom Howard to help him impress his girl as a he-man. Howard is to insult him, and then Shelton comes up and punches out Howard. The gag works, so Howard tries to use the same gag, recruiting Donald MacBride as his foil.

Newlywed Harry Gribbon brings his wife home to meet his country family which includes their perspective choice for a daughter-in-law.

Frank Luther was a famous country music singer back in the 1930s. As a result of this success, he was able to make a few films. There isn't a ton of plot in this short and what plot there is seems to be an excuse for all sorts of musical performances.

A pair of private detectives, Peek and Boo, are hired to prove a wife is cheating to secure a divorce for her husband. The film focuses on the humorous, somewhat strange attempts of the detectives to catch the wife in the act.

Tom Howard gets into a poker game on the train with some guys who make up their own rules.

George wants to marry Lena Schmidt but her father disapproves. Tom calls on old man Schmidt to fix things up for his friend George. He calls on the wrong Schmidt, who also has a daughter named Lena, and the two think Tom is there to ask for her hand for himself. Arrangements are made for a marriage but Tom and George think the intended bridegroom is George, as George does not know the wrong Schmidt was approached by Tom.
