The original Czech musical based on Alexandre Dumas' novel was followed by composer Karel Svoboda, Zdeněk Borovec, and Richard Hes, who built on the success of their previous musical, Dracula. The musical Monte Cristo was also performed at the Prague Congress Center and achieved an impressive 444 performances between December 13, 2000, and December 21, 2002, when the final performance took place. The show was seen by 600,000 viewers during that time. Thanks to the Czech Television recording, you too can be there. The musical took almost two years to create, and composer Karel Svoboda once again proved that he is one of our best musical creators today, with a tremendous sense of musicality. He relied on the excellent work of lyricist, librettist, and co-creator of the theme and script, the late master of words Zdeněk Borovec. Richard Hes was the co-creator of the theme and script and, most importantly, the choreographer.

Once again, you can take a look behind the scenes of the Riviera Chateau on the Prague periphery, where a brothel for the socialites is hidden under the guise of an exclusive nightclub. The story takes place in 1930 and although several years have passed since the events of the first volume, the passions unleashed by the intrigues of the time have not cooled down. Once again you meet Renata, called Angel, formerly a prostitute, now the wife of the banker Justice and owner of the Riviera. The elegant Madame, who owned the business before and now works there as a mere manager, is plotting new schemes to get back everything she has...

Mr Jiš managed to give his first script at Barrandov. Already in the preparatory phase, he discovers with horror that the filmmakers have completely bypassed his intention - instead of a probe into the life of a contemporary village, they are preparing a spectacular musical show, which they are convinced will be a hit with the audience. The very first shots speak volumes. An elegiac arrives in the village of Lipovec and is greeted with singing and dancing by all the local officials and ordinary citizens, as this coveted expert is to help them increase their hectare yields with his progressive methods. Studio Ypsilon's musical comedy connects the circumstances surrounding the creation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last opera with the story of The Magic Flute itself. The actors' performances intertwine with the arias of the world-famous composer, creating a collage interwoven with humor and perspective. The story of Tamino and Pamina's love is not omitted, with the opera's authors placing many obstacles in their path, as well as the struggle between good and evil to maintain balance in the world. So how did it happen back then, and who inspired Mozart to write?

Young man in the prison is obsessed with a singer who is to perform in a new musical its director is currently auditioning for. He escapes and through complex and often very funny series of events ends up being the main star of the musical, only to be discovered by the police the day before the premiere...OK, enough spoilers! The story keeps going on... Lots of great dialogs, awesome music and singing, and ever-twisting story (plus, the parallels between the play's script and the real story) makes this one of the most enjoyable Czech movies I've seen in years (and I've seen many)! Definitely check it out if you like comedy, drama, musicals, and theater.

In the summer of 1980, Tallinn hosted yachtsmen participating in the 22nd Summer Olympics. The competition was held at the new Olympic Sailing Center in Pirita, specially built for such a significant event. As part of the cultural program, a large landing party of pop artists from the Union republics and socialist countries landed in Olympic Tallinn.

Karel Gott's Christmas concert in 2005 was recorded in a studio in Kavčí Hory, with an audience, but that did not detract from the excellent atmosphere. The singer himself hosted the concert and personally introduced his guests, who included Jiří Korn with 4TET, Věra Gondolánová, the Polish girl group The Sound Office, and master impersonator Vladimír Hron. Tomorrow is Alice's sixteenth birthday and her classmate Aleš, in the words of his grandmother, "preluded on the wall". On the fence opposite the family home, the words "I love you!" suddenly appeared. The inhabitants of the house begin to search for its originator. Is Alice the only one to whom the inscription could belong? What if little Popeye was practicing his handwriting? Or could it be Dad's confession to Mom? What about the uncle who only has eyes for the lady next door? It's not only the young who are foolish. All in the same house and everyone is suspicious... Vincent, a thoughtful and peaceful young man who loves reading and painting, is the complete opposite of his father. As a retired and ambitious knight, his father feels a strong need to constantly look after his son and shower him with important advice. He even accompanies him on his journey into the world. On their journey, they encounter a sorcerer, endanger the fairy kingdom, and must rectify their mistake. And, of course, they must also rescue the beautiful princess. In the end, the knight understands that not everything can be solved with a sword, and Vincent realizes that evil must be fought. The love of the beautiful princess and half the kingdom is then the natural reward.

The film tells the story of the relationship between a mentally disabled uncle and his nephew, whom fate brings together at a certain moment, gradually forming a bond between them that is a demonstration of the strength and "power" of friendship. This is then put to the test by those who, for various reasons, try to separate them. Among other things, the film is a confrontation between the two main, innocent protagonists and those who lost their innocence long ago and are guided primarily by what can benefit them, often at any cost.
