The trials and triumphs of life in the small town of Dillon, Texas, where high school football is everything.

Once upon the 1970s, Dan Stark and his partner, Frank Savage, were big-shot Dallas detectives. So big, in fact, that they were lauded as American heroes after saving the Governor's son. Thirty years later, Dan Stark is a washed-up detective who spends most of his time drunk or re-hashing his glory days. Dan's new partner, Jack Bailey, is an ambitious, by-the-book and overall good detective, but is sometimes a bit too snarky for his own good. His habit of undermining himself has earned him a dead-end position in the department, and he is stuck solving annoying petty theft cases that nobody else wants. Worse, he's been given the thankless task of babysitting Dan, the drunk pariah who can never keep partners for long.

The tragedies and triumphs of five earnest twenty-something first-year associates fighting to stay afloat in one of Los Angeles' top law firms.

It is present day in Arkham Heights, a seemingly desolate town that has decayed much since the eighties. Renny Meeks is a lonely, mentally challenged man with an IQ of 78, who sacks groceries at a small store. He's a simple man, recently released from an institution for a crime he was accused of that rocked the town ten years ago.

The nature and lure of power: in Dallas, a councilman is on trial for corruption, the D.A. is running for the US Senate, a serial killer is slashing prostitutes, and a professor is murdered. Amanda Reeve is assigned to investigate the law-school killing. She hears rumors that the dead man offered women students good grades in exchange for sex. The trail leads her to two wealthy, beautiful students whose alibi is provided by a librarian. At the same time, the cops close in on the slasher. Meanwhile, Amanda misses her former lover, next in line to become D.A., and a reporter is fired for getting close to the truth about the Senate candidate. Is a cover-up or conspiracy in the works?

British crime-fighting psychologist Dr. Tony Hill crosses the Atlantic to investigate the case of an American vet who brutally killed his own family. Can he prove the soldier's defence of post-traumatic stress disorder is bogus? Or will the Texas heat, hostile locals and even a violent plot against him throw Dr. Hill off the trail? This feature-length film from the "Wire in the Blood" TV series also stars Brad Hawkins.
