The rivalry between a professional doctor and a midwife in a small Greek village. A retired doctor decides to settle down with his family in his wife's village and opens a medical practice. However, he gradually comes into conflict with the village midwife and her unorthodox medical practices, namely eye-opening and amulets. The midwife's son, a medical student in Athens, comes to the village for vacation, falls in love with the doctor's daughter, who tries to reduce her influence over the villagers.

In a poor neighborhood of Athens, next to the coffee shop of Spyros (Mimis Fotopoulos) is a coffee shop that has gained a great reputation and is preparing to move to Kolonaki as it has made a lot of money by telling the cup. In the same neighborhood is a laundress, Kalliopi (Georgia Vassiliadou), who makes a living by force. One day, after an incident in which a customer (Kostas Mentis) humiliates Kalliopi and Spyros intervenes, he comes up with an idea: for Kalliopi to run the coffee shop, since the other one has left.

A blunderer barber ends after a misunderstanding to pretend doctor. However the patients problems aren't medical nature but personally so he helps them.

A veteran general, living poorly but honestly with his wife and his daughter, is visited by his future son-in-law who informs him that he is going to immigrate to Australia.
