Giorgos Katakouzinos

George Katakouzinos was born in 1943 in Alexandria, Egypt, and after studying film in Athens and Paris, he worked as an assistant director on several Greek films before making his own films. In 1976, he made the short film “Nights” and in 1982, his first feature film, “Angel”, starring Michalis Maniatis and Dionysis Xanthos. The film, which was based on true events, was a great commercial success and caused a variety of reactions. Five years later, Katakouzinos presented his second film, “Absences”. Also based on a crime that shocked Greek public opinion was his third film, entitled "Life", which was released in 1996, starring Georgia Apostolou and Vasilis Seimenis. Giorgos Katakouzinos died on August 13, 2013, at the age of 70.

After his death, the three sisters live through their personal drama. The eldest, Eleni, imbued with the morals of the time and closely identifying with her father, tries to take his place. The middle one, Maria, representing rebellion, goes off with a captain of the sanitation service, while the youngest, Anna, skating on thin ice through all this, is completely destroyed.
