Exactly one hundred and fifty years after the birth of the brilliant composer and conductor Gustav Mahler, a select band of artists gathered in his birthplace, Kaliste, to honour his creative talent in a very special way. Under the direction of the Austrian conductor Manfred Honeck and accompanied by the internationally acclaimed Mahler Chamber Orchestra, three world-famous soloists came to pay tribute to Mahler at a gala concert: Thomas Hampson, Anne Sofie von Otter and Marita Solberg. The result was an unforgettable summer evening of classical music made up of outstanding excerpts from Mahler's Second Symphony and his best-known orchestral songs, performed on an impressive open-air stage against the backdrop of an idyllic natural setting - it was, in short, a worthy tribute to the great Gustav Mahler.

The release of Mahler's Symphonies Nos. 1 + 2 starts the release the complete Mahler cycle with Paavo Jarvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra on DVD and Blu-ray. Each Symphony will have an introduction by Paavo Jarvi.

Maestro follows Grammy award-winning conductor Paavo Järvi and an array of brilliant musicians as they perform to sold-out music halls across the world.

Celebrated conductor Paavo Järvi -- who has led the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to acclaim -- joins forces with eminent pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja for this 2001 concert with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The program features performances of Brahms's Piano Concerto no. 2, Schumann's Symphony no. 1 and Glinka's "Ruslan and Ludmilla" Overture. The results are potent: A delightful evening with two classical greats.

Accompanied by the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducted by Paavo Järvi, French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performs the rare ‘Concerto in D flat major, Op. 38’ by Aram Khachaturian (1903–1978), who was one of the Soviet Union’s ‘official’ composers, alongside Prokofiev. Also on the programme: “Vesper” by the Estonian composer Ester Mägi, who passed away in 2021.

Schumann at Pier2 is not a usual concert film, it shows the 4 Symphonies of Schumann from a new perspective. Stars of the film are the conductor Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and it´s filmed at „Pier2“, a former dockyard in the harbour of Bremen. This is a 4-DVD set, featuring the Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi and the chamber orchestra (around 40 members) Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The first 3 DVDs feature live performances of all 9 of Beethoven's symphonies, and the 4th DVD is a documentary produced for DW (Deutsche Welle) on this Beethoven project.

Following the first instalment from this series Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 will continue the release of the complete Gustav Mahler symphony cycle with Paavo Järvi and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. The performances also feature the outstanding soloists Waltraud Meier and Genia Kühmeier. Bonus material includes introductions to both symphonies, given by Paavo Järvi.
