Bobby Vernon has just been married to Lila Lee, but her parents object and kidnap her to Reno, where, if not rescued, they will be divorced. It probably wouldn't hold up before a judge, but it does produce a fairly funny movie.

Gloria Dawn lives down the hall from her sweetheart, Bobbie Knight. The dishonest Henry Black is Gloria's guardian, and he is also in charge of Bobbie's inheritance. The scheming guardian and his sister have been spending Bobbie's money, and they hope to have the sister marry Bobbie so that they can keep control over his money.

Glenn (Glenn Tryon), is trying to get into a secret fraternity in order to impress his girlfriend, Fanny (Helen Mann). But his rival is the president of the fraternity and has some very special plans for Glenn. The latter soon finds himself crooning a love song to two tough policeman. and being instructed to convince his blond sweet patootie, Fanny, that he prefers a brunette sweet patootie.

A songwriter has to come up with a full-length theatrical piece within a few days.
