A satire on the ways of the aristocracy. After the revolution, the bourgeois Nedopluev loses his appetite and sleep. Neither medicine nor the regimens prescribed by the doctor help him. He is drafted to the labor front. Donning on a robe over a house robe, he goes to work. Together with other bourgeois, he has to haul manure and load stones. The next time, Nedoplyuev puts on a workman’s overalls. Very soon he is cured of his ailment, becomes healthy and energetic, eats enough for three and smokes only makhorka. Seeing that his wife has lost her appetite, Nedoplyuev makes her chop wood. The film ends with the slogan: "The ills of the bourgeoisie will vanish with Soviet medicine". An incomplete version of the film is housed in the Russian State Film Archive.

Silent film from 1915 which draws on the story of Carmen

Lost film.

Biography of a village boy who got into the city. Having settled down as a sex worker in a tavern, the hero falls in love with a dressmaker - and leaves her as soon as she becomes a mother. Then he meets with the owner of the tavern, robs her and after a series of revels goes to prison. Meanwhile, a woman abandoned by him decides to commit suicide. She is saved from death by a switchman, who soon marries her. Here, after a few years, the hero who returned from hard labor ends up and, for the sake of the happiness of his own daughter, decides to leave the owners of this quiet monastery alone.

The plot of the farce is the adventures of a merchant woman at a resort; there is a pornographic element. The shots of landscapes of the southern coast of Crimea are successful, the acting is not artistic. The inscriptions are extremely vulgar. It is Christmas Eve, and the town witches’ son, a blacksmith, seeks an honest marriage to his love who wishes for a pair of shoes fit for the Tsarina. A mischievous devil is trapped into providing service to the smith.

Two peasants in feudal Russia wish to marry but tragedy strikes. A grim if familiar depiction of the precarious condition of the rural life.

A significant part of the 1912 production "A Life for the Tsar" was used in this film.

Seamstress Mary dreams of a better life outside a sweatshop. Her dreams come true when she draws the attention of the bourgeois Victor. She soon tires of him, and thanks to her, his money is almost gone. When he suggests settling down outside the big city, where his money could be enough for a modest living, she leaves him and picks up a new lover. A year later, he is living in a shabby, cold hovel, still pining away for her.

A dramatization of a wedding in 16th-century Russia, between members of two prominent boyar families (based on paintings by Konstantin Makovskii): Three matchmakers first visit the family of the prospective bride, and then do the same with the prospective bridegroom's family. Later, as the time of the wedding draws near, the bride is dressed with great formality and prepared for the ceremony, as the guests get ready to celebrate the upcoming wedding.
