2021
NRThe film tells the story of three friends and their long years of drug addiction in a small village of East Germany.
Helbra
2004
NRA magical film about the mysteries of childhood and a thousand-year-old custom. Tom, Sebastian and Paul are three children from very different families. They live in a small village in 'Mansfelder Land', an area where the demise of mining has left its scars. Despite the changing times, the villagers have retained an archaic custom over the centuries. Just once a year, the younger ones are able to triumph over their elders, and this is the first hint at the changing of generations: springtime drives out the winter, and thus the young drive out the old. That's the way it's always been, and how it will always be - and once a year, this old magic returns to the hearts of the villagers.
MansFeld
2013
3.3Following his award-winning Mansfeld trilogy, Mario Schneider returns to Leipzig with a film that is simply astonishing. The basic idea is captivating: on one level, the film tells the story of three people who pose nude at the local art academy. This creates a point of intersection from which the film credibly enters and exits the world of its protagonists. At the same time, it connects the work of art with that of life, while the moment of posing nude invites viewers to contemplate the human body.

NRHeinz and Fred, father (69) and son (25), live under one roof in the small village of Ahlsdorf in Mansfelder Land, in the heart of Germany. They are inseparable and inhabit a vast empire of steel and scrap metal. They have restored countless ancient broken machines to date. Tractors, cranes, excavators, airplanes, ships. Everywhere you look, there are signs of past and future work. But in all the individual parts lie new ideas, new tasks. Heinz and Fred breathe new life into the screws, cables, and metal sheets. They work without orders and without any intention of using the items. They get up together at six every morning and go to bed early in the evening after a hard day's work. There is a lot to do.
