Purappadu deals with social issues between Muslims and Hindus in a village who are forced to relocate when a flood destroys their village.

Vasu and Chacko are working as drivers and low ranking workers for the Abkari contractor Sreekandan. Sreekandan is heavily involved in the smuggling of liquor from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu in order to increase the already high profits in his business. For some time the jobless youngsters try illegal brewing of hooch.

Saleena is happily married to Mathew , a wealthy estate owner. Inexplicably she commits suicide much to the shock of Mathew. He firmly believes that there existed no reason for her to do the act and asks his journalist friend Balu to investigate why. Balu, who was also close to Saleena, tries to piece together clue from her past to figure out the answer.

Two friends, Balagopalan (Jayaram) and Jayakumar (Jagathy Sreekumar), own a call service called "We Help" to help people with the assistance of lawyer Madhavan Thampi (Madhu). Balu gets a call from Indu R. Nair, who is the daughter of a businessman. Later, Indu asks Balagoapan to be her bodyguard. But when Jayakumar and Balagopalan visit her home, they discover that Indu has been murdered. Officer Thomas Mathew takes charge of the case. Madhavan tries to find her killer to save Balagopalan and Jayakumar, before it is too late.

Tony (Raghuvaran) is an eccentric young narcotics control officer whose methods are unconventional but effective. They have an extensive friends circle which includes the feisty Fifi (Urvashi), her brother Tito (Ashokan), Suku (Jagathy) and Sajan (Sreenath). Veni and Tito fall in love much to the displeasure of Ramaswamy because of their religious differences.

Viswanathan, a thug, is hated by all his villagers due to his arrogant nature. However, he realises his mistakes and tries to start a new life after he suffers due to an accident.

Aravindan is shot at by the police for murdering Madhavan, a landlord. Ironically, he is supposed to be treated by Madhavan's daughter, Dr Savithri, who feels compassionate towards Aravindan.

Jagadish is a poor man who gets by any way possible in life. At a job interview place he get a tip that the manager is a big cricket fan. So , Jagadish pretends to be one , but it backfires when the appointed manager does not come in and his father who hates cricket does the interview and he does not get the job. A woman pretends to be Jagadish's wife for her interview, to get sympathy for having a cricket crazed husband and gets the job. Jagadish finds out and demands 1/3 the payment every week from her for getting the job , by saying he was her husband. The rest of the story forms how they fight over the job/payment and the hilarious situations that happens when their lives intersect.

A spoilt rich man Kuttapayi befriends a group of four college students. Kuttapayi uses them to do a lot of his dirty work. When things go awry they take refuge in Kuttapayi's remote estate; where his past catches up with him.

Amina Tailors is a 1991 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Sajan and produced by Ramakrishnan. The film stars Innocent, Ashokan, Sankaradi and Shubha in lead roles. The film had musical score by Raghu Kumar.

Kunju Lakshmi is the youngest daughter of the aristocratic Kavumpattu family in Peruvannapuram. She is pampered by her brothers and is a little arrogant. The family owns the local college. Sivasankaran comes to the college as a peon to replace the Padmanabhan who fails to give the promised donation to the Kavumpattu family in return for the job. Innocent is a conman who gets payed by a associate to trick a whole town into thinking that he is an animal doctor , Dr. Pasupathy which the town president brought for the villagers.

Bhaskaran, a goldsmith, is madly in love with Snehalatha, the daughter of astrologer, Panicker. When Bhaskaran asks for Sneha's hand in marriage, to his shock, she denies their love affair.

Haridas (Jayaram) moves to Trivandrum for a government job arranged by a local politician. He is provided accommodation by a retired major (Thilakan), a friend of his father, at his house. Haridas gets cheated by the politician and ends up working odd jobs to make ends meet. He initially shares his situation only with the major's daughter (Ranjini) towards whom he starts to grow romantic feelings. Eventually the major comes to know about his job and helps him out to get an alternate one. Meanwhile, Haridas realises that his original government job is now occupied by an old-time adversary Manu (Suresh Gopi), with whom he gets into multiple altercations.

Prakash, a married man, falls in love with another woman. His wife and girlfriend become pregnant at the same time and he tries to keep it under wraps.
