Kostas Tsakonas
Born 1943-10-12 · Athens, Greece
Kostas Tsakonas graduated from Diplarion School with a degree in Electrical Engineering and studied at the "Drama School of the People's Experimental Theater" of Leonidas Trivizas and the "Veaki" drama school. His first appearance in cinema was completely by chance in a short film by Kostas Zyrinis. He then played many leading roles in cinema, theater and television. His role in the film "Teach My Child Letters" was a characteristic one. The actor was seriously injured in 2004 when a tree fell on his head and in combination with various health problems that plagued him, he was no longer able to work in the theater. His health problems and difficult financial situation led him to consider going on a hunger strike as a sign of protest at Easter 2011. Kostas Tsakonas breathed his last on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 4, 2015, five years after a serious stroke that left him very unstable, while he was battling cancer. (Wikipedia)

7.0This is a series of intersecting stories. A petty crook and former lover of a lazy ingénue steals the box-office receipts from the Odeon of Herodus Atticus, on the day an important football game is also taking place. There is also the story of the half-mad mother of the ingénue who refuses to put shoes on because she believes that shoes lead people astray. An eccentric grave-digger produces a two-seater coffin for couple-victims of car accidents. The film also tells the story of one of the Odeon's cleaning women and of a watermelon that goes all around the city, pursued by a tired theater technician and his sister, who is a tour guide. The impresario conducts an inquiry after the theft, but the thief and his two associates, the ingénue and the technician, use what was stolen to set up a small theatre. Small everyday stories and comic incidents combine to create a portrait of modern-day Athens.

NRIn this offering, Kostas Tsakonas (a champion of the SOV comedy of the era) as a wimpy poor guy & petty thief who lives with his nephew, is chosen by the arch-Dracula to rule Greece, since he's a long lost relative of the vampire family, and since the current Prime Minister has sucked the Greeks dry (yes, there's some awful not-so-subtle dated attempts at political satire in there as well). What follows is Tsakona's transformation and consequent attempts to adjust to his new vampiric lifestyle, while a clumsy exorcist and some of his fellow villagers are after him.
