Jane is a 23 year old dreamer with an urgent need to understand the world around her and her contentious and wildly comic relationship with the opposite sex. Solitary yet crowded by her imagination, as each day passes she must come to terms with the vertiginous reality of life as an independent adult living alone in the city.

Victor Reynolds arrives at the notorious House of Usher, whereupon he is greeted by old acquaintances Roderick and Madeline Usher and their servant, Markus. As Victor uncovers more about the history of the house and the disappearances of those that entered it previously, he begins to realize that he is in mortal danger.

Arriving at a secluded institute, they are welcomed by mysterious scientist JB Divay. Initially, JB's fascination with hypnosis, clocks and cactus plants are dismissed by the group as mere eccentricities. But as the students begin to disappear one by one, they begin to question JB's true intentions.

A family dispute gradually reveals the source of a male dominated family's anxieties - a daughter who chooses to dress, and express, as a boy. Going out into the night, she sets off on a journey to find love, and eventually herself, in the colorful underground nightspots of East London.
