Greedy, Unscrupulous Rudolph learns that Belinda has just inherited $10,000, and he decides to steal it from her. He and his henchmen arrive at her house just as the money is being delivered. Meanwhile, Hairbreadth Harry observes the whole scene, and he hides the money for Belinda. But while Rudolph keeps Harry and Belinda occupied, his henchmen are already going about the job of stealing the money.

Young Dick is pursuing pretty young Mary, but so are a lot of other young men. Dick decides to impersonate her butler and uses that position to keep all of Mary's suitors out of the house so he can work on her himself. When his ruse is discovered, he is thrown out of the house. That, however, doesn't stop him. He gets the maid to help him concoct a story about Mary actually being bald and having false teeth, hoping to drive them away. It works, but it doesn't quite have the effect he intended it to.

Colonel Becker, Isobel's wealthy father, is interested in the fur business and goes to Canada, taking her with him. Bucky wrecks the pleasure train on which they are riding and kidnaps Isobel. Steele eventually catches up with Bucky, bringing him to justice and rescuing Isobel. The subdued girl explains her joke, and Steele resigns from the force, again taking his place in polite society.

Though The Nth Commandment survives incomplete, enough exists of director Frank Borzage’s last film while under contract with William Randolph Hearst’s Cosmopolitan Pictures for scholar Hervé Dumont to declare “it the first truly Borzagian work.”

After graduating from a fashionable finishing school and touring Europe with her father, Selina Peake returns to the United States, where her father is accidentally killed after losing his fortune in a gambling den. Selina is reduced to teaching in a high school in the Dutch community at High Prarie near Chicago. She boards in the farmhouse of Klass Poole, a dull-witted market gardener, and finally marries Pervus DeJong, a poor and backward farmer. But when promoter Bobby Lewis (Egan) of the barnstorming Gay Girlies Burlesque Company arrives in town, he picks an incognito Adele among all the pretty village girls to star in his new show. On a lark, Adele introduces her maid Jane (Louise Fazenda) as her mother and accepts a contract. When Adele's identity is finally revealed, the slumming star apologizes for her deception by offering Bobby a Broadway job.

Jimmie, an oil stock salesman, is roughly handled by a couple of shrewd promoters who have stolen a well from a poor girl. The latter saves our hero, who in turn gets the well back for her.

Though Grandma Corey promotes the romance with the prizefighter, Mike, the fighter's hardboiled, wisecracking manager, tries to keep them apart; following a quarrel, Faith reconciles herself to marrying Siegfried, but when he invites a group of "weak sisters" to a revival meeting, he is disgraced when one accuses him of her downfall. Finally, with Mike's advice, Jerry wins back Faith and they are united with the family's blessings.
