Tomoko Saitō

Set in the year 1969 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Kyoko Noma is a loving female high school student who takes part in campus protests. One day, she meets university student Wataru Domoto in the tea cafe Mubansou ("A Cappella"). Kyoko falls in love with him, but they get involved in an incident that leads to a shocking ending.

Two historical incidents that deepened the friendship between Japan and Turkey are connected in this story of friendship and compassion: In the night of 16 September 1890 the Turkish frigate Ertuğrul is caught up in a typhoon and sinks off the Japanese coast. Risking their own lives, local villagers are able to rescue 69 Turkish sailors. Although being very poor and having hardly to eat, the villagers share what little they have with strangers from a country 9,000 kilometers away. 95 years later, during the Iran-Iraq War, more than 300 Japanese are stranded in Tehran. In the morning of 19 March 1985 a Turkish Airlines aircraft takes off for Tehran to evacuate the Japanese. But the remaining Turks at Tehran Mehrabad Airport still need to be convinced that they won't be able to board their own country's rescue flight.

In the far-off future of 2001, a young boy from outer space lands on earth inside a flying peach. The boy (named Apple) is adopted by a Catholic priest, but soon disappears. Three schoolgirls decide to search for him, and soon find evidence that he is being held captive in a trendy dance club. What is the club owner doing with him, and will his adopted father ever see him again?

Famous detective Kindaichi solves a series of mysterious murders in a wealthy family. An excellent blend of intrigue and betrayal, set against the backdrop of wealth, this film is loaded with twists and turns and surprises at every corner.

Kosuke Kindaichi is the most famous detective in Japan. Kindaichi gets a new case to figure out who has beheaded a valuable statue and made off with its head.

Kenichi, a fifth-grader, moved from Tokyo to the Ina Valley to receive treatment for his asthma. At his new elementary school, he meets Sabu, the class clown; Masaru; and Karen, a girl born in Brazil.

The Hirata are a typical family residing in picturesque Kosai, Shizuoka Prefecture. Their lives are thrown in chaos when an earthquake strikes and causes a nearby nuclear power plant to explode. They must evacuate their home.

The wife of a samurai, who was leading a happy life, dies in a fit of wind. On the verge of death, she makes her husband promise that she will not take a second wife, and is buried in a corner of the garden, as he had wished, but of course the second wife comes. At the celebration, the husband is immediately smitten with his new wife, but the spirit begins to haunt him from the seventh day.
