Maria, Helga and Kiki were best friends in their youth. Now there has been radio silence between them for many years. One day, the ladies meet by chance and it is the first step into a new life.

Opening a pub in a dusty dump with virtually no choice. Only one drink, only one dish and only one song. Does that sound like a good idea? In Munich, the city with gastronomic abundance? Probably not. Nevertheless, two casual acquaintances have exactly this business idea and put it into practice in upscale Munich, in the middle of the chic crowd. The Munich commercial film director Augustin is thrown out because he hasn't paid the rent. Together with the unsuccessful Austrian writer Roland, whom he doesn't really like, he moves into his grandmother's former restaurant. The two men decide to reopen the pub. Although they only serve sausages and schnapps, they are surprisingly successful. But the landlord has other plans.

Maren feels very much at peace in her new home. Her relationship with her father is improving and her son comes to Munich from New York for a research project. But the ex-banker can't really rejoice, because the financial situation is still tense. A creditor holds promissory bills from Bertramshof, which he sells on to a wealthy sausage manufacturer. In Reichenbach, the political world still seems to be in order. There is exactly one social democratic vote in every election. Naturally, people think they know who this incorrigible person is. But when old Querdenke is buried, things get complicated. A letter is found in his estate that causes Mayor Singhammer a great deal of embarrassment. It is said to be the result of an affair between his mother and the recently deceased old man. And he threatens to reveal this secret posthumously if Singhammer doesn't parry. A letter to this effect has been deposited with the notary. The scandal can be avoided if a "red" vote is cast in every election from now on.

The play is set in the time of our Prince Regent Luitpold, who years ago went hunting with the dignitaries of the community of Gombach. When a stately stag ran across their path, His Serene Highness put on his gun but missed the stag. The animal has been allowed to live ever since. To commemorate this hunting trip, the people of Gombach celebrate an annual festival at which the Prince Regent's target is shot. The Prince Regent never misses the chance to shoot in the competition and of course he wins every time. But the truth is that he is a lousy shot and the people of Gombach find it harder and harder not to beat him every year.

Because her unconventional manner always causes offense, the always good-humoured Sister Anna is ordered to only deal with the financial affairs of her Protestant deaconry in future. For fans of history, this glimpse of Munich society in the 1920s will be a much-treasured event. The story revolves around an art-gallery manager who puts on a show featuring the scandalous works of a woman artist who committed suicide. He is unjustly accused of having committed adultery with her, and for some reason the authorities decide to make an example of him. He is imprisoned at about the same time that Hitler and the nascent Nazi party attempt the infamous Beer Hall Putsch, and the gallery manager's girlfriend and a Swiss writer valiantly (and unsuccessfully) attempt to get better justice for him. Nobody in authority, it seems, has the courage to take up the challenge of righting this particular injustice.

Bernhard "Big Mäc" Maurer, an ex-motorcycle freak and bored piano teacher, is voted the "perfect motorcyclist" by the trade magazine Motorrad after quitting his job as a music teacher at a Munich high school. He is promised a bonus of $50,000 if he manages to beat a Japanese team in an adventure rally from the Zugspitze to Kilimanjaro. Maurer agrees and chooses as his second man, the technician, his young neighbor Max. Max, for whom an apprenticeship is at stake, injures himself shortly before the start of the rally and has to sit out. Without Maurer's knowledge, Max's almost identical-looking sister Maxi takes over the role of the boy.

Principal Gottlieb Taft's twin brother Gotthold Taft partakes in the most recent prank by faking his death and promising a large inheritance to the Mommsen-Gymnasium and the principal. Of course, the inheritance is tied to many embarrassing conditions.

Siggi, son of the Minister of Education, is supposed to be preparing for his A-levels during the vacations. But instead he makes music.

After the First World War, history professor Abel Cornelius wants to distance himself from his previously published political views. This could go well, were it not for the student Max Hergesell, who provokes the professor to such an extent that he has to defend and justify himself, especially as he really has no taste for the current social changes. When the professor's older children arrange a party, Max Hergesell also turns up, much to Cornelius' surprise. To make matters worse, the student gains the sympathy of Cornelius' beloved baby Lorchen, who only wants to be put to bed by Max...

Due to a plot by the teaching staff, headmaster Taft is forced into early retirement and Knörz is appointed headmaster. Rudi Carnel is a passionate inventor. He has developed a universal robot that he wants to present to a large company. A new teacher, Dr. Dr. Bach, is transferred from his quiet village elementary school to the Mommsen Gymnasium, bringing along his nephew Jan. Bach's lackadaisical methods raise the suspicions of the other teachers.

Pepe Nietnagel and his fellow students of the Mommsen school come up with all kinds of ideas to get out of doing any actual school work. This includes simulating suicides, setting off the air-raid sirens and abusing the school director's new broadcasting system. They succeed in sending their teacher to a sanatorium and get a replacement that turns out to not be so bad after all.

Pepe Notnagel (who inexplicably had his name changed from the first movie's Nietnagel) and his classmates scheme to get around doing any actual school work by cheating or sending their teachers to the sanatorium. A Swiss documentary film maker disguises himself as his brother in law, who got a position as an exchange teacher, to aid his project of making a movie about the current youth.

The 13-year-old Ludwig is to have for every joke. At boarding school he cuts his stern teacher, Captain a. D. Semmelmaier, during the nap from the beard. The angry pedagogue then sends the spoiled flail back to his beloved Bavarian village. The long-suffering mother persuades the rector to resume her reforming boy at the Latin school. Everything seems to be working out for the better, but the upcoming marriage of his sister Ännchen with the Berlin beer brewer Karl Schultheiss presents Ludwig with new challenges.

Mommsen Gymnasium director Taft secretly places his nephew as a spy with the difficult class of Pepe Nietnagel. During the celebration for the 100th anniversary, a simulated fire forces the school to shut down for a week. The director's attempt to get a tough teacher assigned by the department of education results in the exact opposite because of Nietnagel's intervention.
