Unsuccessful Luxembourg bank robber Johnny Chicago is released from prison and immediately and incompetently attempts to resume his life of crime. An inheritance does not necessarily mean the end of all worries. Definitely not for two elderly friends, both in their early 60s, who inherited the “LITTLE DUKE” after the death of their adoptive father. The Irish pub in the idyllic lower town of the rich metropolis of Luxembourg has long since passed its heyday, is now heavily in debt and in need of renovation, but fits perfectly into the loot scheme of the building speculators who want to redevelop the entire district. What to do? Do you want to start again when you retire, revitalize the pub or give in to pressure from speculators? The difficult but wise journey of two old men, one a realist and one an incorrigible optimist, through the world of the rich and powerful.

“Entrée d’Artistes” is an astonishing documentary about jazz, swing and dance music in Luxembourg between the Twenties and the Sixties. The first orchestras performed at the fair, at the Alpha, at the International,… ; jazz, considered “negro” music and banned during the Nazi occupation, was prerogative of cabaret,… “Entrée d’Artistes” retraces that fine period using archive images, interviews and reconstructions but also by having the musicians of that era rediscover it (Tommy Dallimore, Andy Felten, Johnny Glesener, Jean Roderes, Camille Back, and others).

Ronnie lives in a small sleepy village and is the owner of a small company for deep-frozen goods. Daydreams, contact ads, the firemen's brassband, the weekly visits at his shrink and his buddy Lars' cynical remarks about air guitar and vinyl-records are the highlights of Ronnie's life. Already, as a kid, he suffered from being under the pressure of his power- and manhood-fixed mother. Ronnie's feelings are as deep-frozen as his goods. Until the day, a wonderful being - one of the female kind - strands in the village. The local priest hires the young girl, a groupie with the name of Zoya, as housekeeper and within days, Zoya turns the whole manship of the village mad and horny. Also Ronnie falls for Zoya and, well yes, lucky for once, marries her. However, since the presence of Zoya, strange things have happened in the village. Everybody who tries to search in Zoya's unkown past dies, disappears. Slowly that well-known fear sneaks into Ronnie's body: men's fear of women.

Friendships are born, affairs, even lasting relationships. The number of white and black babies of unknown fathers that are born in the next few months in Luxembourg remains unknown. This incredible and thorough documentary by Andy Bausch features comprehensive, amusing and often touching interviews with Luxembourgers, American veterans-some of whom never left Luxembourg-, the children of the GIs and legendary photographer Tony Vaccaro, famous for his pictures of the winter of 1944.

But they can do it only on petty theft and other swindles, which is bound to end badly...
