Two factory workers decide to spend all of their pay on a Saturday night with two prostitutes, but things don't go as planned.

An eclectic group of strangers seek shelter on a dark and stormy night, soon finding an isolated guest house owned by a mysterious proprietor.

Carlito, a bank clerk in Rio de Janeiro, is an engrained megalomaniac. Aided by his girlfriend Marta, he executes a wild plan that involves Milton de Souza, a married businessman, director of a factory.

Maria, a countrywoman, leaves for São Paulo, where she becomes an industrialist's lover and meets all kind of people but, dissatisfied, she returns to the country to meet her family again.
