Lone runs away from a girls' home in Jutland and travels to the home of her foster parents. Her visit quickly gives rise to a conflict so she travels onward to Copenhagen. In Copenhagen she enters into lower and middle class milieus and the hippiesque underground, but she runs away from each of these because she manages to start conflicts with most people by acting aggressively aggrieved. Lone finds a boyfriend and becomes pregnant during the couple of months she spends in Copenhagen before she is found and placed in a mothers' home which she eventually runs away from in order to have an illegal abortion.

As the 30-year crisis looms, five older young people in Copenhagen find good reason to reconsider their lives. Dennis is about to move in with Kirsten, but he has his reservations, and she has her own unconscious agenda. Thomas and Søs have lived together for several years, but never before have they found reason to doubt the strength of their relationship, given her desire to have children. And Mads is a professional soccer player who has to deal with his own and everyone else's expectations. All of them come to realize that when you are forced to make a choice without knowing the consequences in advance, it can be more than difficult to figure out the next step.

‘Caroline – the last journey’ is a modern interpretation of Caroline Mathilde’s marriage to Christian VII, her relationship with Johann Struensee and her subsequent expulsion from Denmark. The film is about a power struggle in a large Danish company. Christian is the company’s external manager, but he is more interested in art than economics. The actual managers, Ove and Juliane, run the company with a heavy hand according to the old traditions, until Christian appoints the innovative and progressive Johan as his personal advisor.

There is a cheeky Frida hiding inside all of us. Hideouts, secrets, kissing techniques, and dreams of becoming heroes by exposing evil bandits. Parents are just a nuisance, and when you finally want to take care of serving the guests, somehow it all goes wrong. It's a shame, because you just wanted to do it so well. Lykke Nielsen translated the best of the best from her books into this film. The children were happy to play along and at one point said that they would like to play in more films. That wasn't to be, but the film remains a sweet and funny everyday story that reflects the children's innermost dreams: to be allowed to be themselves without too much interference from outside. Throughout the film, the children go through a lot before they turn the villains over to the authorities, but that's how a children's film should be.
