Yasuko, a housewife, lives in an urban high-rise apartment with her husband Satoru and her son Takuto. Annoyed by spam calls and door-to-door salesmen, Yasuko slams the door on a salesman’s hand when he tries to squeeze a flyer through the apartment's chained front door. He leaves, but the next day, her nightmare starts.

A woman was raped in her school years and broke up with her lover because of it. Intimidated, the commuters do nothing to help. Later, the victim reports the incident to the police and a witness finally comes forward. When the man hears about rape on the news he takes steps to protect his identity and begins to track the victim.

Ryoichi, a fugitive, stays at Cape Hotel. Two women were at the hotel. That night, a woman's sudden scream is heard. Looking out, he sees a naked woman bound with ropes, tied to a wheelchair, passing right before his eyes. SM bondage lesbian scenes unfold in the hotel night.

The story follows Muhan, the female assassin introduced in 1985's Dream Crimes, who was originally based on Takashi Ishii's manga character (unlike in the movies, she's primarily a mahjong expert in the manga). After Muhan fails to kill a young girl during a hitjob, she begins to question her existence.

A man with a troubled past including incest with a younger sister and the murder of a woman travels to an isolated countryside town in Nagano. There a local who mistakes him for a famous television actor shows him the town's sites, including a strip bar in which the performers remove Heian era costumes. The film's narrative is in an allegorical and disjointed manner with references to Buddhist concepts.

What lasts longer, the time before birth or the time after death? In the 1990's, Kenjo dies in a terrorist gas attack. His girlfriend Haruka is killed by a man she meets as a street prostitute. In 2002, Kenji and Haruka who should already be dead, meet again and a new story begins.
