A life-size, inflatable sex doll suddenly comes to life one day. Without her owner knowing, she goes for a walk around town and falls in love with Junichi. She starts to date Junichi and gets a job at the same store where he works. Everything seems to be going perfectly for her until something unexpected happens.

Haruhiko Nakayama is vice principal at a Japanese school, where he takes care of everything and dreams of finally becoming principal. But after a teacher no longer turns up for lessons, Nakayama has to teach a primary school class again after more than 20 years. It revolves around Tsuyama, a driver for a call girl business in Toyama Prefecture, who comes across a mysterious counterfeit bill and has his life targeted by underworld kingpin Kurata. Is his story fact or fiction? His editor, Nahomi Torikai, decides to verify whether his latest work is mere fiction based on real-life experiences. She looks into a family that vanished, a post office worker who went missing, a shady load of cash, the whereabouts of the doves, and the fateful encounter from that night... A series of shocking facts are revealed from Tsuda’s stories. Why did the counterfeit money end up in Tsuda’s hands? What is the “ending” that Tsuda wished to portray?

He is rejected by his sister when the brother floats the idea that their father move from his house to her apartment. The father has other ideas however and shows up unannounced at her doorstep with his belongings. She has little space, a boyfriend she lives with it and does not need a cranky father.

Hiroshi Tanaka sports an intense perm which looks like the afro hairstyle favored by some African-Americans back in the 1970's. He doesn't get his hair done at a hair shop, he was actually born with his hair like that. For freedom, Hiroshi moves to Tokyo. He works hard there and, even though he turns 24, he still doesn't have a girlfriend.

Watako has just lost her lover, Kimura, in a traffic accident in Tokyo. She decides to bury the trauma of this tragedy and carries on with her life with her husband. Although she puts on a facade for a while, the loss of Kimura has left deep marks, and she can't escape his memory any longer. She must now confront her grief.

Together, they navigate collapsing safehouses, relentless threats, and the search for life-saving Zombrex as they fight to stay alive in a world overrun by the undead.

The opening bust-shot, with its frequent use of cut-away shots and blurred dialogue, is like a campus version of Ozu's films. As the story progresses, however, the film itself breaks away from a style that was as borrowed (but still very fitting) as the protagonist. The way the film acquires its own rhythm and flavour is more than just a pleasurable experience, it is a cinematic pleasure.

Katsutoshi is forced to flee his hometown and ends up at a rundown nightclub called "Tokyo Playboy Club." His hot-headedness gets him into further trouble, and the club's waiter Takahiro and his girlfriend Eriko also get caught up in it as their underworld predicament worsens to the point of no return.

Ogura Akane is twenty six years old and wants to become a designer. However, things go awry when in a double whammy she loses her job and finds her boyfriend cheating on her.

Even though Kumiko realizes that she won’t be able to patch things up with her former lover, she ends up preparing a meal for him. Though she lives only for going to the concerts of her favorite band, Mie curses her nonexistent luck when she’s forced to do overtime on the day of a concert. Although Tsuda somehow lives off of doing day labor, he does not have any friends and is unable to establish interaction with society. In his indolent lifestyle, Rikuo only knows how to express himself through violence. The clumsy lives of these characters intersect.

Although the situation is universal, Japanese mourning rituals are given solid coverage. The 49th day after death is considered crucial, as the date at which the soul passes from this world to the next and, therefore, the date from when the living are expected to get on with life. But Yoko doesn't move on. The ache of the loss that simply won't heal takes an awful toll on her husband and friends, who try doggedly and unsuccessfully to help her move on, and to guide her away from the misguided and damaging belief that daughter Kanako's spirit has entered another living child.

Shuichi and Rina are a twenty-something couple living together. Shuichi is working as a fiction editor for a book publisher, while Rina is unemployed, since she finds it hard to keep a job. When Shuichi's colleague runs away because of their terrible boss, Shuichi suddenly gets reassigned to work with Nishikawa, a stuck-up author who writes banal but popular self-help books. Rina gets hired to be his editor by complete chance, since Nishikawa ends up liking her out-of-the-box thinking. When Rina starts to succeed while Shuichi struggles, the problems in their relationship start to become apparent.

Based on the manga of the same name by Mamora Goda, a manga artist known for works such as Kirakira Hikaru, this human drama depicts a father who has no interest in his daughter and a daughter who has forgotten her father.

Doughnuts MORI is a small doughnut store in Kagurazaka, Tokyo. The main character, Kimiko, works part-time at the donut shop in addition to her job as an illustrator. The customers who visit the store are all eccentric people. Kimiko's curiosity leads her to meddle in their lives, helping them and being reminded of them. Through her interactions with them, Kimiko comes to face herself.
