Zbigniew Kaminski

A story about a German family during World War II with every family member having a different approach to Jews, raging from hatred to compassion.

Set in the late '20s. A thirtyish young man, who heads a small factory, faints at the funeral of a close friend. He decides to go home to his aunt and uncle for a while, but gets involved with a family of five women who had been in love with him at one time though he had apparently loved only one, who, unknown to him, has died since his departure. The women are mainly disillusioned with life or estranged from husbands while the youngest has a crush on him.

An aspiring actress falls for her leading man and passion ignites. When a series of murders haunts the estate where the actors are filming, her leading man no longer seems to be perfect and she is forced into a deadly choice.

Anna, a stay-at-home mom stifled by the tedium of domestic life, becomes obsessed with Flaubert’s Madame Bovary and yearns for her own grand romance. In a bid to escape her loneliness she splurges her savings on fashion and cosmetics and arranges a secret tryst, only to find that reality can never match her daydreams, and she must choose between her fantasies and her family.
