Comedy Aid 2011

Look forward to a fantastic show, where this year's hosts, Carsten Bang and Jesper Juhl, together with a string of the country's comedians, will mark 25 years with a historic anniversary show on December 27 at Musikhuset Aarhus, December 29 at Royal Arena, and January 8, 2018, at The Comedy Store in London. For the fifth year in a row, the proceeds will go to Save the Children and the organization's humanitarian work for refugee children. In 1995, Carsten Bang, Jakob Petterson, and Thomas Wivel went on air on ZTV with a project that would later prove to have a decisive influence on their lives and stand-up careers. The three comedians started out experimenting with the talk show "Nu forstår jeg ingenting" (Now I don't understand anything) and then crystallized the best ideas from the talk show into the comedy show "Det' Jo Løgn" (It's a lie). Det' Jo Løgn is the first comedy created by the new generation of comedians in Denmark. Classic comedy was mixed with surreal twists in the borderland between the somewhat understandable and the completely hazy – and out of this sprang a highly remarkable cast of characters. Who doesn't remember The Vendelbo, the angry man at the pub, and Frank? Characters who have since gone viral on YouTube, where thousands of viewers have clicked their way through the absurdities.

Talegaver Til Børn celebrated its 15th anniversary in December 2007 with three sold-out shows at Forum. The FBI's annual charity show was produced in collaboration with Unicef. For 15 years, between Christmas and New Year's Eve, people have been able to laugh for a good cause in the company of the country's best stand-up comedians, and the 2007 shows definitely lived up to the success of previous years.

Stand-up comedy mixed with plenty of horror and chilling thrills is on the menu when Thomas "Godfather of Comedy" Wivel kicks off the third round of Vaffelbaren. This round of Wivel's Vaffelbar has been subtitled: "A vampire's inflammations." The kid gloves are off, and together with his two co-hosts, MC and Brian Mørk, he presents a show that offers hardcore and biting comedy—spiced with a long series of exciting features. You can experience Thomas Wivel playing guitar with fruit and meet a real vegetarian vampire who doesn't have it easy! The guest list also includes Kaspar Bang, who will entertain with his multimedia show.

Nyt comedy show af Thomas Wivel ! Thomas Wivel har optrådt i spidsen af dansk stand-up i over 10 år – nogen kalder ham stand-uppernes GODFATHER. Han er en evig inspiration for alle, der holder af stand-up. Thomas kan noget med timing og levering, som ingen kan gøre ham efter. Det ser så legende let ud, når Thomas går på scenen, men underkend aldrig det enorme engagement, som driver Thomas til altid at være med helt fremme i alle afkroge af stand-uppens udvikling.

Thomas Wivel and Povl Carstensen on a loose line. Section 1 of 2. "Dig" is the show that's all about you! "Me!?" you say, shaken, feeling like Naser Khader after a voter meeting. You're sitting there with sweat on your back, looking pale, and just wanting to go home. But yes! It's all about you. Who are you, really? What are you up to? Are you achieving your goals, and do you really need walking sticks to get there? But at the same time, the show is a self-examination by the two experienced comedians Thomas Wivel and Povl Carstensen.

On a routine voyage, a spaceship from the distant future lands on the remains of planet Earth, which, after a long ice age, is deserted and covered in snow. The two descendants of the now extinct human race (Martin Brygmann and Xenia Lach-Nielsen) hesitantly go ashore, but they fumble around so much that they fall into a crevasse. At the bottom of it, they find a treasure chest of films from "the good old days" and, through the film reels, they suddenly experience crazy situations performed by the very mysterious and not entirely ordinary human race.
