Aalamarathaar (Radha Ravi) is dreaded by his enemies in Aattuthotti in Madurai. He involves in ‘katta panchayat’ but strives to do his best for the people in the neighborhood. He is adored and respected by everyone there. He is assisted by his son Azhagar aka Kutty (Harikumar) and his son-in-law. There is Gomathi (Karthika Adaikalam), Kutty’s niece who loves him madly which Kutty does not reciprocates. There are local MP Cutout Ganesan (Kathal Dhandapani) and DIG (Raj Kapoor), both keen to bump off Aalamaram and Kutty.

Thairiyam (English: Braveness) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by P. Kumaran. Produced by RB Creations, the film stars the director himself and Deepu, with Karthika also playing a role. The film was released on 29 January 2010 Kumaran saves his girlfriend, Deepu from the menacing Riyaz Khan. Following a duel with Kumaran, Riyaz slips into a coma but the intrigue lies in the fact that all Riyaz' friends are killed. Several twists and turns involving the evil-minded villain Kamaraj form the crux of the film.

Marudhu (Mahadevan) and Kaliammal (Saranya Ponvannan) are a rich but childless couple. They adopt Kannan (Prabha), a young man from a lower caste. However, Kannan feels depressed to leave his parents and little sister for his new family. Kannan, Marudhu and Kaliammal then leave their place for Kaliammal's native village.
