Nikola, 34, is a commercial director, he’s about to become a father for the first time, and he dreams of one day taking his young family on a road trip in an old van he wants to convert into a camper. Over the course of one weekend, however, accompanying his father and extended family to a small village in Dalmatia, where his grandmother’s remains are to be buried, he finds himself looking to the past instead of the future. Ostensibly, nothing remarkable happens during the course of the journey.

The story takes place in modern-day eastern Serbia, still fertile ground for various forms of superstition and prejudice. Zorica is a village girl who carries a curse. Ever since her first boyriend mysteriously drowned in the river, men around her are dying in most bizarre ways. The plot thickens when stubborn policeman Maane who doesn't believe in 'village tales' tries to investigate whether Zorica is a serial killer or a girl looking for love.

A young man is roaming through the city of Guanajuato accompanied by his friend. He is happy to be away from the hospital, which is a sad and cold place. The city is his home and brings back lost memories and emotions. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away in Belgrade, four women weave their own threads into the story. As one of them dressed as Frida Kahlo disappears into the spotlight of the theatre stage, she's accompanied by the Serbian version of "Paloma Negra", reminding us that only love is eternal in this fleeting world.
