Herluf lives a complacent life with his wife Inger-Lise. Their daily routines are only interrupted by their daughter's marriages, the third now about to take place. But Herluf's problems are more serious than an indecisive daughter, his wife is cheating on him and he's started forgetting things at work. And one day Herluf doesn't return home.

This film introduces us to Hugo, a one-of-a-kind animal who lives in a jungle. Youthful and carefree, Hugo is prone to playing practical jokes on his friends, Zig and Zag the monkeys. His idyllic lifestyle is interrupted when he is captured by CEO of a famed movie company, Conrad Cupmann, to be co-star in a Hollywood-style film. In order to return from Copenhagen to his jungle home, he must escape with the help of a newly found friend, Rita the fox.

Danish writer/director/critic Christian Braad Thomsen goes back to his Jutland village roots in this documentary film, and lets the interviews with his neighbors and others from his homeland speak for themselves. Jutland has gone from being a remote rural spot to becoming a favored vacation spot, and the rigors of unchecked development in contrast to the past is the main theme of their discussions.
