Alfredo Varela was born on November 30, 1912 in Mexico City, Mexico as Alfredo Varela Catalá. He was an actor and writer, known for El infierno verde (1952), Duro pero seguro(1978) and El extra (1962). He was married to Yuyú. He died on May 1, 1986 in Mexico City. His parents were the actors Alfredo Varela Sr. and Adela Catalá.

Directed by Juan Ortega and set in 19th Century Victorian England, a struggling single woman of the noble class , named Juana Champion (played by actress Andrea Palma), has absolutely no marriage prospects.
