In 1389, the Serbian prince Lazar Hrebeljanović refused to submit to the Turkish Sultan Murat, who was invading Serbia with a large army, in order to continue conquering Europe through it.

A wife comes to a construction site to find her husband, who does not want to see her. She finds a job there and makes a male friend. Tragedy is in the air due to his jealousy, instigated by the ridicule of his co-workers.

Based on a play, it consists of three one-acts: "Merry Home", "At the Break" and "Before a New Life". The author depicts the grim world of the Belgrade outskirts, and the people who are bound by a common yard and common destiny, those faced with a wall of hopelessness.

Winder is an antiwar drama, the kind, tragicomic way, the story of the famous, seemingly old-fashioned, but often love among family and friends, who in this adaptation is set out as a national form. The film tells about two well-men, Misula (Boro Stjepanovic) and Puja (Ljubomir Bandovic), contradictory attitudes and opinions which, in everyday disputes, revealed apparent mutual hostility and indifference, but also a joy to be doomed to a life together. Misula in this respect the embodiment of the old sages, and the apprentice's Pujo naive hasty hedonist. While glossed over planes and bomb Serbia, these two ordinary man, coincidentally ignorant of the events, marathon busy digging wells to a sardonic but humorous way, dissolve pitful weight and personal lives. Besides well-men unaware of the historical moment and one Valjevo village lives almost bizarre, peacetime everyday, until the sound of explosions killer time approaching.

In 1985, four middle-aged Yugoslav emigres return to Belgrade for the funeral of Mariana, their beautiful compatriot. They called her Esther, for Esther Williams, she was the coxswain for their four-man rowing team, and they each loved her. They'd last seen her in 1953, when they rowed her across the Adriatic, pregnant, to join her exiled father in Italy. In flashbacks we learn the story of their youthful baptism into sex, smoking, rock and roll (Hey Ba-ba-re-bop), Hollywood and Swedish films, blue jeans on the black market, and their rivalry with Ristic, the Communist Party youth leader for whom they had instant antipathy.

This film was based on Zoran Zivkovic's stories, in which the main motif is number two: a number that unites a man and a woman, sky and earth, yin and yang... It also tells two stories that are merged into one whole.

In February of 1918, in Boka Kotorska, the greatest uprising of Austrian sailors broke out. Forty warships, with 6.000 sailors, rebelled against the Austrian Monarchy. The uprising was bloodily crushed after two days, and it's leaders shot.

The plot of the third story takes place on the roof of the solitaire, where Avaks and Hibrid are wasting time in anticipation of something happening.

Two friends dream of what they will do when they become adults. One friend dreams of travelling to far off places, but stays at home. The other one leaves and sends him postcards from exotic locations, with descriptions of impossible adventures. But, his friend at home engages in a passionate love affair with his beautiful young landlady. When his friend-the traveller returns he admits he may have exaggerated about some of his adventure stories.. The two friends continue on dreaming of new excitements.

A famous fashion designer returns to his birthplace in a tiny Serb town, in the wake of the recent war. Although the inhabitants still love to dance the tango and live life's pleasures to the full, the Mafia have gained a foothold.
