A concise blast of feminist film making, Sander's first film is a tense yet playful four minute short that dissects a typical urban scene at a bus stop on a busy street in Berlin.

In a critique to the Berliner films that depicted labour problems always through masculine lens, Sander changes the point of view. Irene, single mother, works in a washing machine factory and has to deal with discrimination, sexual harassment and lack of solidarity.

Gerd Conradt films men carrying a red flag in a relay race through Berlin, to hoist it on the balcony of the current Mayor’s seat. A cinematic experiment based on Eadweard Muybridge, Andy Warhol and New American Cinema. A study in men, movements and a symbol. This is the 7th part of this series of film exercises. A documentary about the events at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) in November 1968, which led to the termination of the training contracts of 18 students. While Director Heinz Rathsack dictates to his secretary Helene Schwarz the letter lifting the ban from the premises against 18 students, the students plan a general assembly inside the dffb despite the ban.

The documentary, produced by the General Student Committee of Freie Universität Berlin, documents the brutal police crackdowns on anti-Shah demonstrators, preserves evidence, interviews eyewitnesses, and confronts thugs with film and photographic evidence. Thomas Giefer and Hans-Rüdiger Minow interpret the police assaults as “the first attempts to implement the state of emergency against an extra-parliamentary opposition seeking to prevent it.” The film aims to create a counter-public sphere and calls on viewers to stop the anti-democratic forces and resist.

Fictional story of a traffic accident that triggers a catastrophe near a small village in 1990. A liquefied gas truck collides with a transport truck carrying radioactive material for reprocessing. An accident that was never thought possible by human standards. The radioactivity released must be contained at all costs. Not only the catastrophic consequences of the radiation, but also the panicked, irrational and inhumane behavior of those trapped in the village and the German army are portrayed in an almost unbearable way in this film.
