Michel Lipkes

Tracking an old man (with a truly Bela Tarr-like persistence) through the streets and bars, and porn cinemas, and taco-joints, of Mexico City on what might be the pensioner's last day on Earth, Critic/curator-turned-film-director Lipkes has crafted an undeniably challenging but beautifully realised vision of modern loneliness.

A boy lives with an old man in a small house, he takes good care of him and watches sadistic cartoons on Tv. One day the old man dies, the kid is left alone.

The love story of Jonathan and Yesi, two garbage collectors working under the despotic and violent Master Clean's command. He is always followed closely by Mum, a longtime collector who silently and ghostly cleans the streets of the city. One night, while doing their work, they find the corpse of a man with money. Master Clean takes a terrible decision. Jonathan and Yesi plan their escape. A tragedy looms.

Set in future Puerto Rico, follows Zur'na's quest to rescue her kidnapped brother from US colonial forces, unveiling a system oppressing her people along the way, accompanied by talkative neighbor Vyeñu.
