Luis Hurtado

Rome, Italy, February 1900. While a malaria epidemic sweeps the city, the young and beautiful Donina meets Leonardo, an ambitious sculptor, who makes her his model.

During archaeological excavations in the crypt of Santo Tomé (Toledo, Spain), a sarcophagus is discovered containing the incorrupt body of Captain Contreras, a man in a state of suspended animation since 1650, due to a potion someone forced him to ingest to prevent further illness. The audacious journalist Cornejo intends to exploit this discovery, with the help of Paca Revilla, a careless woman, and an unscrupulous doctor. The controversy surrounding the authenticity of Contreras's body reaches the ears of several American universities, which purchase the Captain's remains.

In the Madrid beginning of the 20th century two young people try to make it as artists: Elena intends to succeed in the music world and Pablo wants to become a famous painter.

In the late nineteenth century, Miguel Velasco, the son of a wealthy Spanish immigrant established in Mexico, comes to Madrid, where he falls in love with Celia, a chorus girl working at the Apollo theater.

Rosa, the daughter of the foreman of Don Ramón, a wealthy landowner, has to take refuge in a hut one stormy night. There she is raped by a stranger whom she cannot see except for his terrible eyes. Rosa becomes pregnant and gives birth to a girl.

Renzo and Lucia's love story is jeopardized by Don Rodrigo, a wicked nobleman, who is interested in Lucia. Document Z-3 (Italian:Documento Z-3) is a 1942 Italian spy film directed by Alfredo Guarini and starring Isa Miranda, Claudio Gora and Luis Hurtado. It was one of three Miranda films directed by Guarini that helped re-establish her in Italian cinema following her return from a largely unsuccessful spell in Hollywood. Many critics were not impressed with the film, feeling that Miranda had not recovered the spontaneity of her pre-Hollywood films. This is considered the first movie in which Federico Fellini has worked as a screenwriter.
