"Passing Darkness" - Oslo lawyer Josef Omgang returns to his native village on the Finnmark coast, where he finds his father's seafood company in trouble. International buyers have started trawling the market, and Josef realizes that the vital natural resources are in the hands of organized crime.

Kjell needs to fix some shelves to the walls in his apartment and borrows a Black&Decker drill from a neighbour. Kjell is very amused by drilling holes, and takes up a slightly bizarre fascination for the drill. One day the neighbour comes to get it back...

The entire extended family is happily on its way to a nostalgic Christmas at a rented cabin in the mountains. The cabin becomes cramped, however, when mom and dad and four grown-up children with their respective families, a dog and in-laws from Poland squeeze inside the frozen cabin walls in 30-below-zero weather.

On September 28th, 1994, two Swedish men robbed a bank in the small Norwegian town of Larvik. Soon, with a massive police hunt underway, the robbers ended up taking two civilians and two police officers hostage. Next morning the drama would come to a deadly halt at nearby Torp Airport, where for the first time in history, a Norwegian police chief was forced to give the order to shoot to kill.

The actor Gøril Mauseth goes on a 11.000 kilometer travel with the Trans-Siberian to play Anna Karenina in a new language in Leo Tolstoj's Russia, discovering the language, and the reasons Tolstoj wrote what he wrote, changing her forever.

Victimized by rumor and Norways shifting political allegiances, Simon is denied the final reconciliation he longs for with his community and with himself. When the Berlin Wall falls, his life is once more turned upside down.
