An unusual and wonderful friendship develops between a busy but unhappy salesman and a resident of a mental asylum.

Set in cold rural Quebec at Christmas time, we follow the coming of age of a young boy and the life of his family which owns the town's general store and undertaking business.

Calvin Campbell is a former professional baseball player sent to an early retirement due to his panic attacks at the plate.
